Secondary Education Minor
Preparing to lead tomorrow’s classrooms
Secondary Education minor
Secondary education students earn a full major in teaching content and a minor in secondary education.
At Simpson, our Secondary Education Minor complements your teaching-content major with the methods, practices, and professional skills needed to thrive in today’s secondary classroom. You’ll graduate prepared with both deep knowledge of the subject you plan to teach and the expertise to engage, support, and inspire students.
Learning goes beyond the classroom. You’ll work closely with faculty who are invested in your success while gaining hands-on experience through practicum, classroom observations, tutoring, student teaching, and opportunities to practice teaching in classroom settings. Along the way, you’ll strengthen your teaching competence, critical-thinking skills, and understanding of educators’ ethical responsibilities while learning to create reflective, inclusive, and engaging classrooms.
