The Gerald R. Edwards Entrepreneurial Center

About the Center

The Gerald R. Edwards Entrepreneurial Center is the Simpson College hub for entrepreneurial activity. Located centrally on the first floor of Dunn Library, the Center is a place for EMERGE@Simpson groups and teams to converge and collaborate on ventures or projects. The Center is full of white boards and entreprenuerial resources to help inspire, think creatively, and plot next steps on the journey to success.

Carver Connections

Simpson College wants ventures to develop beyond their start in the Edwards Center.  Carver Connections provides pathways to the mentors, spaces, and resources that help EMERGE@Simpson ventures succeed.  Ventures can easily access the robust Iowa innovation ecosystem of business incubators, accellerator programs and outreach services at other institutions.

Examples include ties to the West Des Moines Incubator, Iowa Startup Accellerator, Gravitate co-working centers, area chambers of commerce, economic development organizations such as the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and collaborations with programs at Iowa State University such as CyBiz.  Carver Connections also provide ways for Simpson-related ventures to access research facilities at other educational institutions.
