Simpson College Receives Recognition for Voter Engagement Plan

Body

Simpson College is one of 93 institutions to receive the Highly Established Action Plan Seal from ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. This recognition is awarded to campuses leading the way with innovative strategies to increase nonpartisan democratic engagement on their campus.

ALL IN developed the HEAP seal of recognition to acknowledge higher education institutions with strong action plans to increase nonpartisan democratic engagement by promoting civic learning, political engagement, and college student voter participation. Action plan strength is determined by reviewing campus action plans with the Strengthening American Democracy Action Planning Rubric.

“Thanks to the creativity and dedication of our student-led Voter Engagement Team, Simpson College has again been recognized for having a Highly Established Action Plan for student voting,” said Seth Andersen, Director of the John C. Culver Public Policy Center. “Culver Fellows serving as ambassadors for the nonpartisan Andrew Goodman Foundation Vote Everywhere program at Simpson write and refine our Campus Action Plan for student voting and civic engagement each year, building on successes and innovations developed over the past decade that have yielded record-setting student voter turnout and registration rates for our institution.”

The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in nonpartisan student democratic engagement. Campuses that join the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge complete a set of action items, with the support of ALL IN Challenge staff, to institutionalize nonpartisan civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation on their campus. The ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge engages over 9 million students from more than 870 institutions in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
