Hands-on experience, state-of-art equipment
Hands on. You'll hear that a lot in the Department of Chemistry. Here's what that means: You will learn by doing, not by memorizing a textbook. Our faculty find out what's interesting to you, then fashion a major that allows you to research that subject in a more in-depth manner.
See what opportunities await for chemistry majors
From conducting research on campus to participating in an instruction group, Simpson chemistry majors have many outside-the-classroom options from which to choose.
Get involved at Simpson
Working with other students and are faculty in small classes accelerates the learning process. There are many ways to get involved at Simpson.
Supplemental Instruction Group
This peer-to-peer supplemental instruction group is for students needing some extra help with the material being covered. The group, led by a student who has taken the class, meets once a week to review the material taught that week in the class. During SI sessions, students will strengthen their ability to learn and study strategies while working collaboratively.
