Sports Communication
Major and Minor
You make the call
Do you see yourself making the call during Game 7 of the World Series? Choosing the camera angle for the winning touchdown at the Super Bowl? Working in the offices of a professional sports team? In sport communication, you will study journalism and broadcasting, sports and event marketing and sports management. A degree can lead you to many different careers, ranging from local sports and recreation clubs to major professional sports teams.
What will I learn?
Sports Communication is an interdepartmental program with the Department of Multimedia Communication and the Department of Sport Science & Health Education. You will learn a diverse set of presentation and critical thinking skills in journalism, public relations, sport marketing and management and gain a strong foundation in the relationship of sports and athletics to the worlds of media and communication.
Experience what it's like to work in converged media environments via assignments for the Simpson College student newspaper, online news service, yearbook, radio, television and integrated marketing communication agencies.
