Parking FAQ

Security. Only Security. This webpage. If you need clarification in writing, feel free to email any and all parking questions to jennifer.milani@simpson.edu. If someone hands you a map and it doesn’t say “Security approved” then you should question it.

Yes, if you would like to utilize any parking space on Simpson Campus.

$175/year. Which can be prorated if you transfer in or graduate at semester. You must register each year at Simpson. The parking fee will go on your student account. Questions about billing should be directed to the business office in Hillman Hall.

There is a link on SC Connect “parking registration form” Please note the form does not give confirmation that you have registered. Rest assured that when you hit submit it will work. If you try to submit again, it will error out and then we may not know that you registered until you inquire with us.

Make/model/color and license plate. If you do not know your plate info yet “temp tag” will work. Then you email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu the information when you get it.

The first vehicle coming to campus should be registered through the online form. The subsequent/additional vehicle information should be emailed to jennifer.milani@simpson.edu

Email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu and let her know the details of the vehicle. Security can then determine if you need a new or additional decal or a temporary pass.

The Security office will receive your information in a report. It will take 3-4 business days for them to process it and get the decal to your campus mailbox after the school year has begun. If you don’t have a mailbox or are a commuter without a mailbox, you should stop by the Security office in Hillman Hall room 12 and pick up your decal.

No, please just give it a few days and then check. If it’s not in your campus mailbox email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu. There are just too many students to email each when their decal is ready. You do not have to stop in Security (though you are welcome to) a simple email will be enough.

In your student lot closest to your residence hall. If we find that you have registered and you got a ticket your ticket will automatically be void. If you are in a visitor lot, you will get a ticket and the fines will stand. You are not a visitor waiting for your decal.

Utilize the maps available.

Accessibility parking spots without DOT approved placards. Loading/Unloading zones for more than 10-15 minutes. Fire lanes. Any spaces that are clearly not marked as parking spaces. Grassy areas. Curbs. Rows marked for specific parking “Irving elementary” “Hamilton”

Street parking is available, but most streets have a 2-5am no parking sign.

No, you do not need to register your vehicle.

Email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu so they can have a spaced added for your vehicle. They are available in all faculty lots, but residence halls may not have one unless it is needed.

They should park in your student lot, but you should email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu so that they can get them a visitor pass so they won’t be ticketed. A family should not park in a faculty/staff lot. You are responsible for your visitors and family when they are here to see you.

Lower driver corner, back or front of the vehicle. If tinted, place it in the front windshield. Do not obstruct view. Do not allow your vehicle to be so dirty that we can not see the decal.

Student lot $25, Faculty/staff/visitor lot $50, Non-parking zones $50, Accessibility spaces without proper placard $200

Yes, you have ten days from the date of the ticket to appeal. The form is on SC Connect. You can also email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu if you have attachments to include.

Email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu so that we can check on your registration. If you did register, we will automatically void the ticket. Getting your decal on your vehicle is a priority. We know how busy all of the students are in the first weeks, but we don’t want you to get tickets when your decal is sitting in your mailbox waiting for you. Please be conscientious of getting registered before school begins.

Yes, if you move your car from one prohibited area to another, you are running the risk of getting another ticket. Even if you leave the first one on your car while you drive around.

No – you must register each year.

These are 15 minutes spaces and you should use your hazard/indicator lights when parking there. If you will be longer then that, you should message Security jennifer.milani@simpson.edu to let them know that you will need to be there longer. There are cameras on each area and will be monitored if you appeal a ticket for parking in these spaces. Kresge Circle and Barker Loading are NOT parking lot spaces!! If you are helping a friend (medical/accident/moving heavy furniture) you can park in the loading zones, but you need to use your hazard indicator lights. We will not ticket you if your intentions are to be there just a short while.

DDD – the 12 selected spots are chosen by the house. All other residents in DDD will need to find alternate parking.

Frats – upper level is SILVER parking for all campus students, not just Greek.

NO. If your appeal starts with “I was only parked in Hillman/Wallace/Kent for ___ minutes, you are still getting a ticket. One minute or one hour doesn’t matter. Do not park there. These are for faculty, staff and visitors. If you park there, fines will apply and not likely be an acceptable appeal.

Please feel free to call Security. We can give you a ride or we can stay on the line while you walk back. You can call a friend to talk with you while you walk back. You can use Rave Guardian. You have lots of options. If you park in a faculty lot and risk it, your ticket appeal shouldn’t be because of not wanting to walk.

You will need to register. Prorated fees will apply if it is at semester.

No. You are welcome to utilize Pote West. East is a Irving owned lot. The only other Simpson to park there is faculty/staff and Hamilton residents, only allowed in their row.

Yes, but you should email your coach/professor and Security jennifer.milani@simpson.edu so we know that you’ll have a car on campus. We can discuss the best lot to utilize at that time.

Yes, please reach out before you leave so we can discuss the lot that makes the most sense to park in for your vehicles safety. Jennifer.milani@simpson.edu.

Unfortunately no, we do not have enough space in our three lots to accommodate all of the work study staff during the day.

You are welcome to email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu, but please know that there are actually more spaces than the number of registered first year parking. You may have to walk a bit farther, but we have counted spaces and audit annually.

We are working very hard to update signage, to increase space for silver parking and to be accommodating to everyone who has a vehicle on campus. Your comments/thoughts are appreciated. Please feel free to email jennifer.milani@simpson.edu your ideas.

Absolutely – we are located in Hillman Hall on the north side of the building. We are not located in Campus Services.
