Simpson Earns 4.5/5 Star Rating from Money

Money has awarded Simpson College 4.5 out of 5 stars in its 2025 “Best Colleges in America” ratings. Simpson was one of only two private schools in Iowa to earn a 4.5 star or higher rating. Money examined and evaluated schools based on 25 value factors in three primary categories: quality of education, affordability and outcomes.
“This prestigious recognition is further evidence of the outstanding return on investment students receive at Simpson College,” said Sue Stuebner, interim president. “We are pleased to once again receive external validation for our commitment to a high-impact educational experience that families can afford and produces meaningful outcomes.”
Quality of education factors supporting Simpson’s selection included six-year graduation rates, instructor access (student-faculty ratio) and Pell Grant recipient outcomes. Affordability criteria involved considerations such as net price of a degree, estimated average student debt and ability to repay debt. Finally, outcomes looked at variables such as earnings 10 years after college entry, economic mobility and return on investment.
Students and their families are taking note of Simpson’s ascending value, as demonstrated byrecent enrollment trends.
“We’ve welcomed some of our largest classes in recent history over the last three years,” said Leigh Mlodzik, vice president for Enrollment Management. “The expansion of our All-In for Iowa full-tuition scholarship programs is making more and more Simpson dreams come true. Our students are especially excited about the many opportunities and advantages we offer, including access to a rich variety of internships and research experiences that lead to placements with top employers and graduate programs throughout Iowa and across the country.”
