Class of 13 Brenton Minish: Always a Team Player

Always a Team Player

As a four-year starter on Simpson’s football team, Brenton Minish ’13 experienced the highs that can be experienced when you rally together as a team. Like the time Minish blocked an extra point in overtime to secure a huge upset over Wartburg. Today, he’s still bringing people together for big possibilities.

Minish has more than 10 years of experience in the animal health industry. Staring in sales with Boehringer Ingelheim (BI), he excelled quickly and hungered for bigger challenges. So, he got an MBA from Wake Forest University and accepted a promotion with the company’s technology team. The team’s goal was to create a digital platform to help veterinary practices more efficiently engage customers and grow their businesses.

“Once we developed the platform, I was tasked with rolling it out and getting at least 100 animal hospitals using it within a year — a goal we achieved in six months,” said Minish. “We actually grew to over 1,000 hospitals at which point our company realized it had outgrown itself.”

Minish then moved onto Otto, which acquired BI’s 1,000 partners. Serving as Otto’s director of partnerships, he has played an integral role in helping the company grow its customer base to more than 3,000 veterinary offices nationwide.

The diversity of opportunities Minish enjoyed during his days at Simpson prepared him to thrive in most any situation.

“For example, I took acting classes that gave me the confidence to perform in front of others — a skill that has helped me a ton in sales. And during my study abroad trip to Europe I experienced different cultures and perspectives that I still refer to today.”
