The program is to promote learning, personal development, and retention of college students who are traditionally under-represented in post-secondary education because of income, family education background, or disability.

Individual Student Support Services
The Student Support Services program will provide participants 10 performance related services to enable student success. These will include:
- Identification and Selection of eligible program participants
- Orientation Workshops
- Diagnostic Assessments - LASSI
- Counseling
- Development of Individual Educational Career Plan (IECP)
- Supplemental Instruction And Study Skills
- Developmental Coursework
- Cultural Enrichment
- Peer mentoring
- Career and vocational planning
The Student Support Services program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students the successful completion of their postsecondary education.
The SSS program may also provide grant aid to current SSS participants who are receiving Federal Pell Grants. The goal of the SSS is to increase retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.
