Simpson Scores Top 25 Status in Money Rankings

Body

The “Best Colleges in America 2022” rankings by Money tabs Simpson as the #25 school in the Midwest. Simpson is the only private school in Iowa to earn top 25 recognition, making it the #1 private school in Iowa according to Money’s value-based study, released last month.

Nationally, Simpson achieved a #87 ranking, placing it in the top 15 percent of 671 colleges analyzed by Money. Money’s methodology examined 24 value factors in three primary categories: quality of education, affordability and outcomes.

“This prestigious ranking is gratifying validation of Simpson’s distinctive success in providing a high-value educational experience for students from a great diversity of backgrounds and financial circumstances,” said President Marsha Kelliher. “We are building tremendous momentum at Simpson and people are taking notice.”

Quality of education factors supporting Simpson’s selection included six-year graduation rates, instructor access (student-faculty ratio) and Pell Grant recipient outcomes. Affordability criteria involved considerations such as net price of a degree, estimated average student debt and ability to repay debt. Finally, outcomes looked at variables such as earnings 10 years after college entry, economic mobility and return on investment.

Kelliher says she is pleased to see Simpson getting high marks for what truly matters today in higher education. And it heightens her confidence that the College’s strategic vision for student transformation is right on target.

“Our expanding emphasis on innovative learning, individual student attention and inclusive educational access will continue to enhance our value and appeal to today’s students and their families,” said Kelliher. “And as we cultivate an ever more diverse community of learners, I’m excited to see all the different ways our students will thrive in the future as they seek to lead lives of meaning and service.”
