Master of Music in Choral Conducting – 3 Summers Program

Required Courses (36 credits)

  • MUS 501, 502, 503: Choral Literature (4 credits each summer) 12cr.
  • MUS 501: Choral Literature 1
  • MUS 502: Choral Literature 2
  • MUS 503: Choral Literature 3 
  • MUS 511: One of three semesters included in a study of advanced conducting techniques for choral and instrumental music of all periods.
  • MUS 512: The second of three semesters included in a study of advanced conducting techniques for choral and instrumental music of all periods. Prerequisite: Mus 511.
  • MUS 513: The third of three semesters included in a study of advanced conducting techniques for choral and instrumental music of all periods. Prerequisite: Mus 512.
  • MUS 521: Choral Methods and Rehearsal Techniques
  • MUS 561: Concert Conducting (take 3 times) 4cr.
  • MUS 571: Master’s Oral Comprehensive Examination – Choral 1cr.

Four Music Theory Credits to be selected from the following

  • MUS 531: Analysis of Musical Scores
  • MUS 532: Advanced Counterpoint
  • MUS 533: Advanced Tonal Forms
  • MUS 541: Graduate Choral Ensemble (take 3 times)
