Internships

Internships and career observations are great opportunities to investigate career directions while earning college credit and possibly getting a paycheck.

  • Simpson students can have internships year round because of the college's close proximity to Des Moines, the capitol city of Iowa.  Our math students have obtained a wide variety of internships over the past few years, including internships in the banking industry, the insurance industry, and government agencies such as the National Security Agency and the National Agricultural Statistics Service.
  • May Term is an excellent time for career observations.  Simpson students can earn college credit through the Career Observation course offered by Career Development.  Students gain valuable experience through working 40 hours a week for three weeks and they learn about the day-to-day activities required for jobs in their field of interest.
