Dear Simpson College Community:
We hope this email finds you safe and well. This will mark my last message as interim President of this great college.
In the past five months, I have been moved deeply by how we have come together as ONE community during this remarkable time. I also have been so very proud of our faculty, staff, and especially students who have rose to the occasion every time we have asked to adapt and remain agile while we collectively navigated difficult decisions for the safety of all.
As a proud alum of Simpson College, it has been my greatest honor to serve as your interim President. Beginning June 1, I will return to my role as Vice President of College Advancement, but will remain as a member of the leadership team. This date also marks the arrival of our 24th President, Marsha Kelliher. I ask you to join me in welcoming President Kelliher to the Simpson College family. She has already arrived in Indianola and is excited to meet this amazing community in the months ahead.
I wish to thank you. It’s heartening to know that we’re all in this together, and I remain grateful to you for your ongoing sacrifice and contributions.
Simpson College Develops Plans for Fall 2020
The Simpson College Crisis Management Team is finalizing plans for work on campus health guidelines for the coming Fall semester. These plans are being developed in collaboration with experts across campus along with guidance from state and local agencies, including our peer institutions. These final plans will be shared with the campus community in the weeks ahead.
Simpson College Commencement Details
We are excited to announce details for our rescheduled commencement ceremony on Saturday, October 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Additional information will be shared in the coming weeks with graduates and also on social media. We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our graduates as ONESimpson.
