Criminal Justice

Major and Minor

What will I learn?

Criminal justice is so much more than just policing. You will learn to think in the abstract and apply justice theory to real-life situations. You will also learn the importance of interpreting best practices in the criminal justice field.

This course examines and compares the philosophies and operations of the three principal branches of the criminal justice system: police, courts, and corrections. Of particular concern will be the handling of conflict resulting from misunderstanding and confusion regarding the nature and intent of our criminal justice system’s functioning in dealing with certain types of problems.

What can I do with a criminal justice degree?

Don't worry if you aren't sure what your final destination will be. By majoring in Criminal Justice, you will prepare yourself for careers from the local courtroom to federal law enforcement. When you combine your passion to serve with the excellent education at Simpson, your opportunities may just be limitless. Learn more here
