Psychology
Major and Minor
Experience breadth and depth of study in methods, cognitive, biological, clinical or social development
Every psychology major gets hands-on experience. Simpson's size and focus on research allows you to learn in the field or experiment in the lab with our high-tech equipment, rather than watching graduate students have all the fun!
What will I learn?
You will learn about social processes, memory, personality, human development and psychological disorders by being engaged in labs, field experience and case studies.
Why do people discriminate against others who are different from them? In this course, we will study and evaluate the etiologies, purposes, expressions, theoretical models, and correlates of prejudice. We will also explore the implications of psychology's theoretical models for combating prejudice and implementing change.
What can I do with my degree?
You can apply your degree to many fields including social work, advertising, human resources or public relations. If you choose to advance your degree by continuing to graduate school, many additional professional opportunities open up to you.
