THE RUNKEL-ROOSA IOWA NATURAL HISTORY ASSOCIATION RESEARCH GRANT

In recognition of the many contributions of Sylvan T. Runkel and Dean M. Roosa to the understanding of Iowa's natural history, the Iowa Natural History Association has established an award in their names to support college student research in natural history.  Both Runkel and Roosa have contributed greatly to our understanding of Iowa's natural history, influenced the direction of research, and educated and inspired people of all ages and backgrounds. It is the hope of the INHA that this award will perpetuate their influence as well as to recognize the value of their work and friendship.
An award of $250 will be granted annually to an undergraduate or graduate student at an Iowa college or university to support research on a topic pertaining to Iowa's natural history.
