Simpson College Upward Bound in Indianola, Iowa selects high school students from the Des Moines, Indianola, Norwalk and Southeast Warren communities. Upward Bound is a great way to make new friends. The program offers year-round services to ensure participants' success. During the academic year students attend tutoring sessions at their high schools receiving weekly support for high school coursework and guidance in working through day-to-day decisions about their high school and college futures. These sessions are tutored by Simpson College students and supervised by our Academic Advisors. Once a month our participants gather on Simpson’s Campus for exciting academic enrichment activities.
Academic Year Tutoring
During the academic year, tutoring is provided at each of our target high schools for 2 hours weekly. Tutoring will be the same night and time each week at the participants' high school and will not be provided during winter or spring breaks. Our Academic Advisors will contact each participant at tutoring and assist the participant with their academic decisions.
