Design & Technology Information
The Theatre Simpson department views theatre as an avenue within a liberal arts education for personal discovery, self-discipline, creative expression, and artistic excellence. Based on these principles, Theatre Simpson is a dynamic community that embraces the mission of the college and encourages students to participate in a wide range of experiences. Because design and technology is an integral part of theatre, all students are encouraged to participate in this aspect of theatre at Simpson. Opportunities are available in the following categories:
Design Opportunities: All Simpson students have the opportunity to design or assistant design for a production at Theatre Simpson. Applications for design positions are accepted during the spring for the following academic year.
Stage Management: All Simpson students have the opportunity to be part of the Stage Management Team for a production at Theatre Simpson. Applications for Stage Management are accepted during the spring for the following academic year, and Assistant Stage Manager positions are filled during the academic year.
Backstage Crew: All Simpson students have the opportunity to work backstage in various areas during a production at Theatre Simpson. Backstage crew positions are filled during the academic year.
