What I Want My Words To Do To You
We cordially invite you to a screening of this eye-opening documentary that explores the lives of women in prison, and their journey from victimization to offending.
Immediately following the film will be a panel discussion that will focus on the charge and the challenge faced by professionals who serve victims, offenders, and/or both.
Panelist include: Randall Wilson, Legal Director for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU); Katie Jares, Director of the Skylark Project, a program that offers support and services to incarcerated survivors of domestic violence through the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV); Joe Swaim, Probation/Parole Officer, Department of Correctional Services for the 5th Judicial District of Iowa; Kristine Verwers, Warren County Victim/Witness Coordinator; and, Danny Heggen, co-editor of “Voices on the Inside: The Women of Boronia,” a collection of interviews with incarcerated women in Australia.
