Though Whitney Oviatt is from Carnation, Wash., a town that is more than 1,700 miles from Simpson, her decision to attend the college was pretty simple.
"I loved the small classes and the great community," Oviatt said "I also have family in the area, and I was able to play two sports here."
In the spring, Oviatt is a pitcher for the Simpson softball team.
Oviatt has had no regrets, especially since her Simpson volleyball career has been pretty amazing.
"I loved going to New York last year with the team," she said. "It was really fun getting to know my teammates better and being successful against some out-of-state teams."
The team went 3-0 in a tournament at New York University last August. Oviatt has high hopes for another great season.
"I am so excited about the upcoming season," she said. "We set some high expectations and goals as a team, and I am so anxious to achieve them."
