Athlete Spotlight - Jayna Fischbach
Position: Middle
Hitter
High School and Hometown: Carroll Community High School, Carroll, Iowa
Honors: Letter winner in basketball
With three conference titles — two in basketball and one in volleyball — and three conference tournaments under her belt, senior Jayna Fischbach is ready to take on both basketball and volleyball in 2008.
Fischbach feels blessed when looking back at her full Simpson experience.
“I play volleyball and basketball and have been able to play with some outstanding people and for some great coaches,” said Fischbach. “I have been very dedicated to my classes and just love being around the people at school.”
While Fischbach values her time with the volleyball and basketball teams, she also is busy off the court. As a member of the Tri-Beta Biology Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes women’s Bible study, the Pre-Health Professionals Club and SAAC, Fischbach has had to learn to balance her time when dealing with her busy schedule.
Fischbach plans to become an occupational therapist and has already been accepted into Creighton’s doctorate of occupational therapy program. She will begin schooling at Creighton in the fall of 2009 and is very excited to see where this opportunity will lead her.
