Athlete Spotlight - Emily Salberg
Events:
Distance to mid-distance
High School and Hometown: West Sioux High School, Ireton, Iowa
Honors: Academic All-Conference
Senior Emily Salberg’s favorite part of the track season is spending time with her teammates. Before each track meet, the women’s distance runners will meet to have dinner, hang out and make ribbons or bracelets for them to wear during the next competition.
"It just makes us closer and makes us want to sacrifice more for the team,” said Salberg.
She is ready to compete after the women’s track team placed second during the indoor season.
“I’m excited to go out in the conference and show our talent,” said Salberg. “We are all very close and hardworking, so it’s nice to see our work pay off.”
Outside of being a student-athlete, Salberg is the senior class president, president of the Public Relations Student Society of America, an admissions ambassador and a supervisor for the phone-a-thon. She will graduate in December with a degree in athletic training and minors in exercise science and communications.
