Athletic Spotlight: Molly Sabers

High School and Hometown: Iowa City High, Iowa City, Iowa
Junior Molly Sabers knew that coming to Simpson College was the perfect fit because of the small campus atmosphere that would allow her to get to know her professors and coaches.
“I really clicked with Coach Cleveland when I visited Simpson,” Sabers said. “I believe that all students need to connect with their coach and form a more personal relationship with them, rather than just being part of a sport.”
Sabers is excited for the upcoming track season because she will be competing in heptathalon in addition to the sprinting and hurdling events she participated in last year.
“My goal is to keep improving and form new techniques,” she said.
Involvement in track has helped Sabers learn time-management skills that are essential to her future. Even with her busy schedule, Sabers still finds time to volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa and the Hawley Academic Resource Center as a biology tutor.
A Biology and Spanish double major, Sabers hopes to attend medical school after graduation.
