Four athletes compete at track nationals

Four members of the Simpson women’s track and field team will compete in six events during the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet.

The meet will be held May 21-23 at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.

The following Simpson athletes qualified for the championships:
  • Lauren Bucklin (Jr., Bondurant, IA) in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles
  • Catie Ellingson (So., Indianola, IA) in the 800-meter run and 1500-meter run
  • Kinsey Bak (Fr., Hinton, IA) in the high jump
  • Chelsey Degan (So., Algona, IA) in the discus

“We are really excited and have a great opportunity to come back with a lot of place winners,” said Dave Cleveland, head women’s track and field coach for Simpson. “These women have worked extremely hard, and it is gratifying to see it pay off for them. They will represent Simpson College very well.”
