Bucklin named league MVP
Simpson College runner Lauren Bucklin (Jr., Bondurant, IA) was recently named the Iowa Conference’s Most Valuable Performer for Women’s Track and Field.
Bucklin shined at Iowa Conference Track and Field Championships, held May 8-9 in Pella.
Bucklin placed first in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best of 63.31 and first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.21. She set a new Iowa Conference record for the 100-meter hurdles during Friday’s preliminaries with a time of 13.92. The time tops the NCAA Division III this season. Bucklin qualified for the NCAA Division Championships in the 100-meter hurdles during the Central Invite last week.
Bucklin was also a member of Simpson’s 4x100 and 4x400 relays teams, which both placed third at the meet. She received All-Conference honors for her participation in the two events.
