"We had some nice performances in a definite step up in competition," said Simpson head coach Dave Cleveland. "Kayla had a great night provoing for the first time in her career. She has worked very hard for this breakthrough. It was nice to get Lauren on the national list as well and win against a quality field. Jess Christensen ran great in the 3,000m. One thing that this trip showed that we need to work on is handling a long bus trip and being ready to compete when we get off the bus. We need to and will get better at the mental aspect of competing."
