Athlete Spotlight - Jill Berner

Honors: Letterwinner
The women's tennis team may be small, but sophomore Jill Berner believes they are ready to compete.
"I think we are surprising some people," she said. "We're working hard in practice, and I think it's paying off."
Berner came to Simpson, in part, because she could play tennis here.
"It's a game I want to play all my life, so I'm glad I get to play it for my college," she said.
The small class sizes and the ability to get to know many of the professors and students also appealed to Berner, an elementary education major.
"I love it here," she said. "I'm from a small town. I could be involved a lot there, and I knew I wanted that from a college."
She enjoys how active Simpson students are in the Indianola community.
"I really love this community and getting involved it and meeting people outside of the college," she said.
