Graceland Defeats Simpson 8-1
Jill Berner (So., Albia, Iowa, Albia H.S.) posted a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles but Graceland (1-0) defeated Simpson (1-4) 8-1 in women’s tennis Sept. 6 in Indianola. Berner has won two consecutive singles matches dating back to the Grinnell dual Sept. 2. Alissa Nance (Sr., Indianola, Iowa, Indianola H.S.) took Valeria Alvina to three sets at No. 4 singles, but fell 10-2 in the tiebreaker. The Storm resume play Tuesday at Central in a 3:30 p.m. dual against the Dutch.
