Softball drops two in Waverly

The Simpson softball team travelled to Waverly, Iowa for a double header against Wartburg on Wednesday April 1. Wartburg held Simpson to no runs on 1 hit in the first game beating Simpson 3-0. In a defensive battle in game two, Simpson and Wartburg both had just 4 hits. However a home run in the 2nd inning and a double in the 6th by Wartburg proved to be enough to defeat the Storm 4-2. Kelsie Host (So. Altoona, IA), Jessica Barkley (Jr. Mitchellville, IA), Amanda Enochs (Des Moines, IA), and Allie Hock (So. Lawrence, KS) all had hits for Simpson in game 2.
The Storm will return home this weekend for a double header against Central. Simpson is currently 21-9 overall and 2-2 in the IIAC. Game 1 of the double header will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 4th at McBride Field.
