Vaux Finishes Fifth At Wartburg Invitational
Simpson College junior Katie Vaux (Union, Iowa, BCLUW H.S.) shot a second round 80 on her way to a fifth place tie at the Wartburg College Fall Invitational Sept. 7 in Waverly. Vaux and Katie Schenfeld of Gustavus Adolphus each shot 157 over the 36 holes of the meet. The duo was three shots behind Laura Heck of the University of St. Thomas who was the individual medalist at 154 (76 and 78).
No. 3 Gustavus Adolphus (633) won the team scoring race, eclipsing Illinois
Wesleyan field by 16 strokes en route to the team
championship. Simpson shot 703 over the meet to place 12th.
The Storm resume action next weekend at the Central Invitational The tournament begins Sept. 12 at the Bos Landen Golf Course in Pella and concludes Saturday Sept. 13 at the Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa.
