Simpson College (8-7) split a non-conference baseball doubleheader with Graceland University (6-19) Mar. 26 in Lamoni. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Storm 9-2 in game No. 1. Sean Smith went 4-for-4 with two RBI's to pace Graceland. Jason McClaflin (Sr., Altoona, Iowa, Southeast Polk H.S.) and Cory Dawson (Jr., Altoona, Iowa, Southeast Polk H.S.) each drove in a run for Simpson.

The Storm outslugged Graceland 9-7 in game No. 2. Simpson overcame a 4-0 Yellow Jackets' advantage to take a 6-4 lead after 4 1/2. Simpson added a run in the sixth and two more insurance runs in the seventh. Dawson went 2-for-4 with two RBI's. Chris Jones (Jr., Germantown, Wis., Germantown H.S.), Beau Kaplan (Ankeny, Iowa, North Polk H.S.), Dave Johnson (Fr., West Des Moines, Iowa, Valley H.S.), and Jeff Kinkel-Schuster (Fr., Indianola, Iowa, Indianola H.S.) each put two hits. McClafflin drove in two runs.

The Storm resume Iowa Conference action this weekend with a three-game series at Cornell College beginning Friday night with a nine-inning contest that gets underway at 6 p.m.
