Athlete Spotlight - Caleb Brus
Hometown and High School: Creston, Iowa, Creston High School
Sophomore Caleb Brus has been wrestling since he was six-years old.
Brus has always had a love for wrestling and said it is more than just a sport to him.
"I like wrestling because it brings order to my life," said Brus. "It creates goals for me. I do better in school, and I think wrestling makes hard things in life seem easier."
Brus's high school career successes demonstrate his wrestling talents. Brus holds the record for the second most wins in a single season and is tied for all-time career wins at his high school.
With new coach, Clint Manny, a former Simpson wrestler, the team is hoping to accomplish more than they did last season.
"Clint and the other coaches bring great intensity to the room," said Brus. "He has a very tough coaching style and likes us to model our wrestling intensity to the University of Iowa. Because he is young, he knows the things that work in practice and what it takes to be a champion."
