Curtis Barber, an environmental biology major, has always had a passion for biology, especially animals.
Because of his major, Barber spends a lot of time in the biology department. He really appreciates the teachers in the biology department and enjoys how they are always willing to help.
“Being a student-athlete, I have learned that you need to keep up your grades and that it is up to you to balance your class schedule,” said Barber. “I’ve also learned that the harder you work, the further you will go, whether it is in sports or in school.”
Barber is known especially for his love for snakes. Barber owns around twenty snakes and recently started breeding them. Working through an online source, Barber ships his snakes’ offspring to other breeders.
“I have been purchasing snakes for about two years and started breeding them about a year ago,” said Barber. “Among the twenty snakes I own, I have red blood pythons, anacondas, a python and a boa constrictor. I plan on purchasing rattlesnakes and a viper later on.”
