Athlete Spotlight - Kyle Shilling
High School and Hometown: Knoxville High School, Knoxville, Iowa
Sophomore Kyle Shilling did not start playing tennis until his freshman year of high school.
A friend mentioned to Shilling that he should play because he was left-handed, so Shilling decided to give it a try.
"My favorite thing about tennis is the satisfaction of winning a match or a meet," said Shilling. "I like that it's just you out there against one other person."
With new head coach Daniel Finn and many new faces on the team, Shilling said the team is looking to improve their overall play and move toward a successful season.
"Coach Finn has helped the team a lot," said Shilling. "He really understands the game and knows what he's talking about. He makes us want to go out and practice hard every day."
