Athlete Spotlight- Corey Miller
Center-Midfield
High School and Hometown: Bishop Heelan, Sioux City, Iowa
Corey Miller had always wanted to play soccer in college, so, when he was recruited by soccer coach Mike Wilson, his decision was a no-brainer.
“I played soccer my whole life,” he said. “It was my dream to play college soccer. I’ve been given the opportunity to do that.”
Miller’s favorite part of soccer is the pre-season when the team arrives at Simpson about two weeks before school starts. The time allows the team to hang out and get to know the newcomers.
He’s excited about next season as well.
“We were so young last year,” he said. “I hope we improve and really come together as a team.”
Miller also plays soccer for the Des Moines Menace’s U-20 team. During the summer, he coaches a U-12 team in Indianola and helps run summer camps.
