Athlete Spotlight - David Combs
High School and Hometown: Totino Grace High School, Coon Rapids, Minn.
Senior David Combs originally came to Simpson to play basketball but picked up golf as an additional sport when the opportunity presented itself his freshman year. After injuries and several surgeries, Combs stopped playing basketball but has been able to continue playing golf.
Combs said his experiences as a student-athlete have taught him to be competitive and to take advantage of opportunities and have given him the ability to overcome adversity. He is excited about the upcoming season.
“I’m looking forward to competing for a conference championship,” he said.
His favorite memories from playing golf at Simpson are the road trips to different tournaments, which he said are always fun.
