Golf Coach
Head Coach - Larry Shoop is in his sixth season as head men's golf
coach at Simpson. During his first season with the Storm, Shoop coached Mike
Martin to become Simpson's first Iowa Conference Individual Championship since
1970. He led the Storm to a third place showing in 2007 at the IIAC
Championships. In addition to his coaching duties at Simpson, Shoop is director
of golf and pro shop manager at the Storm's practice facility, Deer Run Golf
Club in Indianola. A graduate of Buena Vista in Storm Lake, Iowa, Shoop was the
head boys and girls golf coach at Martensdale-St. Mary's High School, prior to
joining Simpson, where he started the school's first golf program. Email Coach Shoop
