When senior Cory Dawson transferred to Simpson, he went from Division I athlete to Division III athlete.
Dawson, who transferred from a large state university, is thankful for the decision he made.
"I decided to come to Simpson because I really wanted to play baseball," said Dawson. "One of my best friends played here and put me in contact with Coach Blake."
Dawson has always had a love for baseball, and his love for this sport was one of his main reasons for transferring to Simpson.
"Division I baseball is different because it is way more time consuming," Dawson said. "Baseball basically came first and school second, but at Simpson, Coach Blake tells you he will help in any way he can, but it's up to you to put the time and effort in outside of practice and in the offseason."
In addition to the opportunity to continue playing, Dawson suggests that the smaller school environment was a better fit for him.
"After experiencing both schools, I prefer Simpson more," Dawson said. "I enjoy Simpson because I have met so many more people and friends here than I ever did at my other school."
