Simpson lost their first game to Nebraska Wesleyan 10-7 on Tuesday, April 7. The Storm came back in the fifth inning bringing in five runs, but it wasn't enough. At the plate Corey Rasmussen (Jr. West Des Moines, IA) was 2-3 with an RBI and Curt Bjork (Sr. Mt. Vernon, IA) was 2-4 with 2 RBIs. Also getting hits for the Storm was Zach Smith (So. Indianola, IA), Scott Ethell (left) (Jr. Knoxville, IA) and Jared Swim (Sr. West Des Moines, IA). Taking the loss for Simpson was sophomore Miles Swenson (Urbandale, IA) (0-1), with two strikeouts.
Simpson took the win 12-4 in the second game. Picking up the win was sophomore Brandon Harrison (So. Mt. Pleasant, IA) (3-2). Leading in hits was Cale Smith (So. Indianola, IA)
going 1-3 with 4 RBIs, Dave Johnson (So. West Des Moines, IA) 2-5 with 2 RBIs, Ty Larsen (Fr. Des Moines, IA) 1-1 with 2 RBIS, Scott Ethel 2-2 with an RBI. Ethell went 3-5 on Tuesday with 3 RBIs and 2 doubles. Corey Rasmussen (right) went 2-3 with an RBI in game 2 and 4-6 on the day with 2 RBIs.
Simpson will be back in action Friday, April 10 with one game against Luther, and the double-header against Luther on Saturday.
