Mike Hadden Earns IATS Award

Mike Hadden of Simpson College was recognized as the The Iowa Athletic Trainers’ Society (IATS) Educator of the Year.  Hadden began his teaching career and Program Director duties at Simpson in 1997, which later became accredited in 2003.  During that time period, enrollment grew over 300% and the staff size doubled.  He has taught almost every course in the Athletic Training curriculum, although now focuses primarily with Administration, Rehabilitation, and General Medical courses.  He has also taught courses in Simpson’s cornerstone general education program. In 2007, he was awarded Simpson’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Award.  Mike advises many students and is the advisor of the athletic training student organization and the college republicans.  He has sat on many academic and college committees and participated in numerous college admissions events.  To strengthen the overall department, Mike has been instrumental in instituting a new Exercise Science program at Simpson.
