Mike
Hadden, MS, LAT, ATC, CSCS, STS
Mike Hadden came to Simpson College in 1997. He serves as the program director
of athletic training and exercise science. He is NATABOC certified and a state
licensed Athletic Trainer. He is also nationally certified as a strength and
conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association
and the International Weightlifting Association. Hadden earned an undergraduate
degree from Buena Vista University and his masters degree from the University
of Kansas in biomechanics.
Jason Uhlenhake, MS, LAT, ATC
Jason has served as the head athletic trainer at Simpson since the
Fall of 2006. He is NATABOC certified and a state licensed athletic trainer. He
received his bachelor's degree from Wartburg College 2002 in fitness
management. He completed his master's at The University of Iowa, where he
received his degree in Exercise Science with specialization in Athletic
Training. While at Wartburg, Jason lettered in baseball for two seasons.
Nicolle Whalen, MS, LAT, ATC
Nicci Whalen serves as assistant athletic trainer where she is NATABOC
certified and state licensed. Whalen also serves as an assistant women's
basketball coach for the Storm. She graduated from Simpson in 1998 with a
degree in sports administration. While at Simpson, she lettered three times for
Simpson in women's basketball. She received her masters degree from Iowa State
University in exercise physiology. Whalen previously worked at Mercy Hospital
in Des Moines in cardiac rehabilitation.
Rhonda Beemer, PhD, ATC
Rhonda Beemer became an assistant athletic trainer at Simpson in the
Fall of 2006. She came to Simpson from Southeastern Louisiana University where
she was the clinical coordinator of the athletic training education program.
She also worked as an athletic trainer at Lock Haven University, Eastern
Kentucky University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Beemer earned
her bachelor's degree in exercise science with a double emphasis in athletic
training and health and fitness from Missouri Valley College. She earned her
master's in physical education from Eastern Kentucky and her doctorate from
Southern Mississippi in human performance and recreation.
