Simpson College students are increasingly engaged in the world and the Service Hub offers an array of opportunities to become involved.
Whether you’re interested in working with a student service group, linking your service to the classroom, or exploring other cultures through an Alternative Break Trip, we have the option for you.
A range of volunteer opportunities can be found by clicking the “Service Opportunities” button to your right. Potential experiences range from one-time group projects to weekly tutoring positions in local schools to summer-long international opportunities. Remember to contact the Hub before you contact a site.
Simpson faculty members are creating a growing amount of classes that incorporate Service-Learning. You can see the S-L distinction in the list of courses.
The Service Hub staff advises a number of student organizations dedicated to the public good and social change. We work particularly closely with RLC and the SERVE Council.
Tired of staying home over your breaks? Check out the possibility for a great list of alternative break programs. Previous trips include: New Orleans, hurricane relief, Habitat for Humanity (both domestic and international), inner city Chicago or Denver, Mexico, and the list goes on…
Do you already volunteer regularly? You might be eligible for a Wesley Service Scholar award.
