May Term Housing Information

With the recent changes in the graduation date, the following policy will apply to May term housing:

Beginning May term 2012, students meeting at least one of the following criteria will be allowed to remain living on campus:

- Enrolled in a Simpson academic course, domestic travel course, or international travel course
- Participating in spring athletics which are not concluded before May term – athletes not meeting other criteria would move out upon completion of the sport.
- Students needing to remain on campus for summer housing.
- Students not attending courses but employed for 25 or more hours/week as a workstudy student (upon approval of supervisor and completion of this form)

All students not meeting one of the above criteria will have a check-out deadline of 8pm on Friday, April 27th.  Students involved in commencement (graduates, band, ushers, choir, etc) will have a check-out deadline of 8pm, Saturday, April 28th, if not staying on campus during May term for other reasons.

To be eligible for a board refund, you must be registered for a May term course which is away from campus.  Since students are not charged for May term housing, there are no housing refunds for those students not on campus during those three weeks.

2011 Summer Housing Information (2012 details will be available March 2012)

Summer housing for 2011 is available, tentatively housed in the Washington apartments. Most apartments house four people, although there is one 2-person apartment. We will try to honor all roommate requests. The priority deadline for Summer Housing is April 22, but applications will be accepted until we are full. Please return the contract (available below) to Residence Life at the Student Development office's front desk.

The cost for Summer Housing is $17/day. However, if you work on campus 24+ hours/week and have it verified via the downloadable form below, the rate is reduced to half the daily rate. Charges are placed directly on your student account monthly and payment must be made throughout the summer.

Summer Housing residents may remain in their current on-campus residence through Sunday, May 22, but must move to thier new Summer Housing location on that day between 4:00-7:00pm. Everyone must be able to move out of their current housing on that day.

Summer Housing residents must move to their on-campus Fall semester location during August 7-10. You should plan on checking out with a summer CA during that time.  Students without Fall Housing assignments must be moved off campus no later than Sunday, August 7th, and exceptions cannot be granted. You will continue to be billed at the Summer Housing daily rate until or unless you would otherwise be approved to move unto campus for the opening of Fall Semester.
