Campus Worship 2010

Quench: Living Water

Our contemporary non-denominational worship experience. Come worship with us as we explore what it means to live out Christian faith as students.

John 4:13-14--Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.’

Wednesdays, 9:00 PM, Smith Chapel

Nourish: Bread of Life

This worship experience is modeled after a traditional Methodist service, including hymns and communion each week. Everyone is invited to come to learn more about God and our world.

John 6:35--Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Thursdays, 12:17 PM (directly after 12:15 classes), Small Chapel (will begin Spring of 2012)

The Gathering

This intimate worship experience is an inter-denominational gathering of Christians that happens just after Catholic Mass on Sundays. The group shares together in a meal, worship, short message and small group discussions.

Sundays, 6 PM, Dirlam Lounge (will begin Spring of 2012)

Praise Band

The Praise Band is comprised of Simpson Students who provide music for campus worship on Wednesday nights.  It welcomes vocal and instrumental musicians who feel called to serve God through musical praise.

Practice: Tuesdays, 7:30 PM, Smith Chapel

Communion

Communion is offered at Nourish weekly and at Quench monthly. In addition, a local Catholic priest offers the sacrament at Mass each week. Communion can also be offered at other times to anyone who would like to receive the sacrament. Persons interested may contact the chaplain, Fritz Wehrenberg at fritz.wehrenberg@simpson.edu to arrange a time.

Robyn Ruggles: Chapel Intern of Worship

robyn.ruggles@my.simpson.edu

I am a senior Criminal Justice and Spanish double major with a minor in Exercise Science. After graduation I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and then pursuing a career in wilderness rehabilitation for juveniles.  My favorite place to be is in the mountains.  After spending time in the wilderness I cannot deny the power of The Creator. I am excited to be the Chapel Intern of Worship this upcoming semester.  I have played viola with the band for a couple of years, and am looking forward to being more involved in all of the worship experiences on Simpson's campus.  Worship both individual and in a community is so vital to a relationship with out God that I am honored to have the opportunity to lead worship gatherings for our students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or epic stories.
