The Reverend Chris Waddle

Reverend Chris Waddle

Reverend Waddle is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social and Rehabilitation Services from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University. Rev. Waddle has also completed two units of Clinical Pastoral Education: one from the American Institute for Ministry and the other from The University of North Carolina Medical Center.

Before coming to Simpson College as the Chaplain and Director of Church Relations in 2001, Rev. Waddle served as a minister in local United Methodist churches in North Carolina and Mississippi for eleven years.  At Simpson College, Rev. Waddle teaches once a year in the Department of Philosophy and Religion, serves as a representative of the college to local faith communities, and provides spiritual support and counseling for students, faculty and staff. 

Rev. Waddle’s interests include issues of faith and science, apocalyptic writings and popular theology, and vocational discernment.  His hobbies include fishing, dining, traveling, automobiles and airplanes.
