Student Profiles - Tonya

Tonya at chalkboardTonya has made the most of her Simpson Experience. The senior is majoring in elementary education with endorsements in math, reading and coaching.

"I chose Simpson because it is the perfect size, has excellent academic programs and a beautiful campus. I knew with the small student to faculty ratio I would get individual attention, and I have not been disappointed. I have extremely close relationships with my education professors. They have really helped me make some hard decisions over the past three years and I can thank them for where I am today. They are always willing to help me on assignments or brainstorming new ideas for lesson plans."

In addition to her classroom work, Tonya has also made the most of the social opportunities on campus. Through her involvement in her sorority she has had the opportunity to serve as the Vice President of Organization, the New Member Chair and the Education Chair. She has also been a Junior Greek Advisor and a member of Panhellenic Council (a governing body for Greek chapters).

When she's not enjoying life on campus, she likes to expand her horizons. "I love to travel.  In college I have been to Australia, Cancun, London, Spain and Italy. I always enjoy seeing new places and learning about new cultures."

"The Simpson Experience means everything to me. I could not be happier about the choice I made to attend Simpson. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had."
