“It was amazing,” said Nate, a junior from Mounds View, Minnesota, about studying abroad through Simpson’s semester in Schorndorf, Germany.
“It was one of the best decisions I’ve made.”
As a double major in psychology and German, Nate had the opportunity to spend a whole semester studying the German language and culture while living with a host family in Schorndorf, a town of 39,000 in southern Germany.
“The experience of being in another country and being engrossed in the culture while learning the language was incredible.”
As a midfielder on Simpson’s soccer team, one of the highlights of his semester abroad was watching an international game between Stuttgart’s team and a team from Italy.
Soccer is just another one of the reasons Nate is enjoying his Simpson experience. “It’s been great being able to play collegiate sports. It is something I always dreamed of doing.”
With one more year before graduation, Nate is contemplating graduate school. Regardless, he feels he’ll be in a good position to do a variety of things.
“One thing I’ve learned is that a Simpson degree is well respected.”
