Pre-Law Society

Pre-Law Society is open to students who are thinking of pursuing a graduate degree in law. The group holds meetings, invites speakers to campus and takes field trips to sites of interest to the legal profession.

Topics addressed by Pre-Law Society programming include advice on choosing and applying to a law school, information about different areas of legal specialization and practice, and current issues in the law. The group frequently attends Dwight Opperman Lectures hosted by Drake University Law School featuring U.S. Supreme Court Justices. The Pre-Law Society annually visits either Drake University Law School or the University of Iowa Law School, and in the past has visited Nebraska and Chicago-area law schools as well. Other visits include the new Judicial Building located by the State Capitol Building.

For further information, please contact the Pre-Law Society Advisors, Professor Marilyn Mueller, mueller@simpson.edu or Professor Ruth Weatherly, weather@simpson.edu.
