There are four main committees involved in the Simpson Planning process.
The Steering Committee will develop and coordinate the strategic planning process at Simpson College from August 15, 2006 to October, 2007. Author the final report to the board of trustees. Develop an information gathering and long-term planning process to inform the strategic decision-making process at Simpson College, beyond October, 2007.
The Planning Advisory Group will advise the Steering Committee on the strategic planning process at Simpson College. Review the Planning Process Outline, develop and participate the methods to be used to gather information to inform the planning process. Review Mission Statement, Defining Traditions document, Core Values documents, and the Strategic Directions document as authored by the Steering Committee. The Planning Advisory Group communicates the planning process and outcomes to the college’s various constituencies. Works to make sure the Strategic Directions document addresses the important issues identified in the process and will be accepted by the Simpson College community.
The Action Groups will respond to the Strategic Directions identified by the planning process by developing specific goals and action plans.
The Futures Reading Group will gather and disseminate information regarding best practice in higher education, demographic change, workforce development needs, changes in technology, etc.
