Speakers present on WWII currency

October 12, 2009

Steve and Ray Feller will present the forum event, “Silent Witness: Civilian Camp Money of World War II," Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. in Jordan Lecture Hall.

Steve Feller, a professor at Coe College, and Ray Feller, a clinical psychologist in Boston, have published a book under the same title that catalogues different forms of currency used in ghettos and concentration camps during World War II.

The Fellers have been interested in the topic of studying history through the lens of currency for years; Steve Feller first came across the idea upon finding some paper money used in the Lodz Ghetto, an area in Europe in which his relatives were sent to live during the war.
